We are the stories we tell ourselves
Meet Jiji, a weaver empanelled with The Paravur Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society 3428, under registry number 988, and this is her story of revival.
A widow with the huge responsibility of three kids, Jiji the only working member of the family, lost her loom, shed, raw materials and all her supplies during the devastating floods. Jiji and her kids were stranded and their life came to a standstill when the flood waters washed away their only source of income and livelihood.
With the uncertainty and the disheartening burden of a loan which she had taken to get her land, home, and her loom, Jiji had no way out but to wait for the authorities to reach out to her to help. Her happiness now knows no boundaries, as she has been assured by the society that former Justice Smt KK Usha, has volunteered to help her revive her loom and pledged to walk with her in this journey of survival!
Jiji expresses her gratitude and prayers to Smt KK Usha, for being a beacon of light!
This is Jiji KT, 42, a weaver for 26 years, and this is her awe-inspiring story!
